We are off on another Adventure! A few of us have talked and talked about climbing up Mt. Marcy over the past few years and can never could quite fit it in. Always feeling guilty for leaving our families for a fun weekend up in Lake Placid, being selfish, doing something we love.

Well now we have teamed up that quest with a charity event for kids in Africa with AIDS, Climb Up so Kids Can Grow Up. Now we are Climbing for a cause.

We leave on July 7th and hike Marcy on the 8th. Should only take us about 7 hours round trip to do the hike, beautiful views, great company. Stopping to take in all the grandeur of the Adirondacks. There is no rush to beat the mountain this time, just enjoy! It's not about the hike this time though, it's about raising awareness and reaching out to those in need. It has made this hike not only fun trip but knowing that we are helping others along brings another sense of fulfillment.

Adventure Out! isn't just about getting into the woods, in the snow or on the water. Adventure Out! over the past years has helped a lot of charities in our area, from stuffing 100 stockings for the Salvation Army each Christmas, Serving Thanksgiving Dinner for the homeless, and our big charity event Girls Hit the Ring to Knockout Breast Cancer which has raised over $50,000 for Wilmot Cancer Center and Camp Good Days and Special Times.

There are so many charitable women involved in AO! who have been a part of changing the lives around them right here in our city and I am proud to be among them again on our new adventure in helping children in Africa with Aids.

Please join us in heart, body or a donation in helping us reach our goal of $2,000 for the Children in Africa with Aids.

Ladies you inspire!

Mission Accomplished

Well we made it!! Rainy and cold at the top but lots of good company and a good cause! We did the round trip in 9.5 hours—not bad considering the rain and slick boulders, tired feet and legs but good sense of accomplishment!

Here are some photos from our climb...
